Medicines for people in precarious situations in Switzerland

South Sudan

In February 2018, the Swiss Association of Friends of Sister Emmanuelle (ASASE) and their Sudanese partner, the Society of St Vincent de Paul (SSVP), approached PSF Switzerland to support the health center serving a population of 5,000 inhabitants living near Juba.

Even today, 1/3 of the world’s population* has no access to essential medicines!

Since 1992, PSF Switzerland has been committed to improving access to essential medicines for the world’s most disadvantaged people. PSF Switzerland focuses on a number of key areas in order to carry out sustainable projects that promote the autonomy of beneficiaries. These include training local staff and transferring skills, sourcing quality generic essential medicines from local suppliers, rehabilitating and equipping infrastructures, and providing academic training in pharmacy.
