A multi-year project (2018-2020) disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic

PSF Switzerland’s multi-year project (2018-20) in Madagascar came to an end in December 2020.

The project supported in particular the health centres of Aina Vao, Mahasoa and Fantanenana. These three dispensaries, located in the port city of Mahajanga, serve a vulnerable population of around 100,000, far removed from the national health system. The training of health staff and pharmaceutical students, as well as quality control of medicines, were also an integral part of the project over the three-year period.

Despite the upheaval caused by the Covid-19 crisis, the project shows encouraging results confirming the positive impact of PSF Switzerland’s intervention strategy!

The combination of financial support for the delivery of quality medicines, capacity building of health staff and quality control processes for medicines has been successful.
